Lemon Juice: 1 tsp, adds a fresh, zesty flavor.
Pinch of Salt: balances the sweetness of the filling.
Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats: ΒΎ cup, adds texture to the crisp topping.
All-Purpose Flour: Β½ cup, helps bind the topping together.

- about 4 cups fresh strawberries hulled

- 1 tablespoon cornstarch

- ΒΎ cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- Β½ cup all-purpose flour
- ΒΌ cup light brown sugar packed
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- Pinch of salt
- ΒΌ cup cold unsalted butter cubed
Instructions
- Wash strawberries, discard stems, and cut them into small pieces about ΒΎ-1-inch pieces. Transfer sliced strawberries to a bowl, Add Cornstarch, white sugar, and lemon juice and stir until combined
- In a medium bowl combine all-purpose flour, brown sugar , sugar, oats, butter, vanilla and salt,
- Combine with your hands until grainy and the butter is the size of peas. Lightly grease a baking dish. Spread the strawberry mixture evenly on the bottom, thenTop the strawberries with the crumble mixture, Bake for about 35-40 minutes, until the fruit is bubbly and the topping is golden brown. Let cool until warm and enjoy with vanilla ice cream.
