Tips and Tricks to Nail the Recipe
- For the stovetop method, ensure your pot is deep enough to keep the cans submerged for even cooking.
- Keep extra hot water on hand while simmering to maintain water levels; this prevents the cans from bursting.
- If you’re short on time, use an Instant Pot or pressure cooker to speed up the process to just 35-40 minutes.
- Dulce de leche can be served warm or cool, and is delicious drizzled over fruit, or mixed into yogurt for a sweet treat!

- STOVETOP METHOD.
- Remove the label and place unopened cans on its side in a deep stockpot.(not upright)
- Filled with water 1-2 inches above the cans .
- Cover the pot and simmer for 3-4 hours.
- Keep an eye on water level, add more hot water to keep the cans fully submerged.
- Instant Pot / Pressure cooker METHOD
- Cook on high for 35-40 minutes.
- Cool completely, open your can and enjoy golden , delicious dulce de leche on top of your ice cream, cheesecake, pancakes and many more!!
- Unopened cans are shelf-stable for 3 months .
