If you're looking for a sweet and indulgent treat, you can’t go wrong with homemade dulce de leche. This rich, caramel-like sauce is perfect for drizzling over ice cream, pancakes, or even dolloping on cheesecakes. It transforms simple desserts into extraordinary delights with just a can of sweetened condensed milk!

This Easy Dulce de Leche recipe is special to me because it was a beloved dessert in my childhood. My family often used it to elevate our favorite treats, and now I love sharing the joy of making it with others. The beauty of dulce de leche lies in its simplicity and versatility—it’s a wonderful addition to any dessert table!

    Recipe Ingredients

Sweetened Condensed Milk: 1-2 cans (14 oz each) - the star ingredient in this decadent sauce.

Tips and Tricks to Nail the Recipe

    • For the stovetop method, ensure your pot is deep enough to keep the cans submerged for even cooking.
    • Keep extra hot water on hand while simmering to maintain water levels; this prevents the cans from bursting.
    • If you’re short on time, use an Instant Pot or pressure cooker to speed up the process to just 35-40 minutes.
    • Dulce de leche can be served warm or cool, and is delicious drizzled over fruit, or mixed into yogurt for a sweet treat!
